Who can benefit from Ovita?

The chances of conceiving and giving birth to a healthy baby are strongly related to female age and start declining from the age of 31.

The cryopreservation of oocytes could be a real option to preserve female fertility and could apply to the following cases in particular:

  • Women, who have not yet met the right partner and / or want to have children later in life, e.g. after having completed their education / studies or advanced their career or as the "biological clock" starts ticking. The chances of conceiving a child decrease dramatically from 38 years of age.

  • Women who are exposed to severe environmental conditions at their workplace that may impair their oocytes.
This could be due to: frequent long-distance flights, a professional
activity involving hazardous chemical substances such as tar,
paints and varnishes, the exposure to X-rays, tobacco smoke
    electro smog, etc.

  • Top-level sportswomen

  • Women, who have undergone surgery on the ovary to remove cysts, endometriosis sites etc. and therefore have had one or both of their ovaries partially removed

  • The treatment of diseases and disorders that may have a negative impact on the ovaries (e.g. hepatitis, auto-immune diseases)

  • Women having genetic / auto-immune predispositions: Turner-syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, galactosemia, myasthenia gravis, Addison`s Disease, diabetes mellitus

  • Women with a particular family predisposition for premature menopause (premature ovarian failure = POF)

  • Women about to undergo cancer therapies such as chemotherapy, radiation or the removal of the ovaries which may put their reproductive health at risk (in the U.S. alone, almost 50.000 women of „reproductive age“ are newly diagnosed with cancer each year)
